To Achieve greatness you must first overcome adversity

Today we load the bikes and equipment for the upcoming race weekend at Maxton, NC, featuring the Throttle Nation Shootout. It has been a very turbulant year for us at TLN Motorsports. Actually more than a year. If you follow this blog you already know we are a very succe3ssful Land Speed Racing Team holding 3 World Records and 32 National Records. It is a record we are very proud of, and have worked continuously to achieve.

Adversity has been our constant companion. Between health issues and the death of numerous family members, an unbelievable year in which we blew up our World Record holding ZX-6 while making only one pass, sponsor help that fell through and the strain of the economy, we have struggled to just make races this year. We were forced to miss Texas, the 1st and 3rd events at Maxton and a potential early date at Miami. We came back in Maine, but without the ZX-6. Our ZX-10 set 3 National Records and made multiple passes of 203+ mph. It was a great weekend for us, but not having the ZX-6 kept it from being a complete success. At this point we don't know if TLN Motorsports will make the closing weekend in Maxton in October. The financial strain of the year has been overwhelming. If not for the efforts of the Team Owner/Wife, we would have been out of business earlier. Will there be a next year? I don't know at this point. What I do know is we have a motto, Never Give Up, Never Give In. We believe in what we do. Our work with Wounded Warrior Project has been so rewarding to us as we see the determination and the spirit of those who could just give up. I know that the Throttle Nation Shootout starts Saturday and we have 2 strong bullets loaded in our gun. Our ZX-6 we expect to defend the title of 650cc all motor champion and we expect our ZX-10 to take the 1000cc all motor title. We have worked and prepared, continued to work, when we couldn't go to the track. We believe in ourselves and what we stand for. This little family team is on a mission. A mission to greatness as we have walked through the adversity.
