The Land Racing weekend at Loring was such a success for us at TLN Motorsports. We accomplished everything we went there to do. Our ZX-10R ran a top speed of 203.965 mph. The last 4 passes all were over 203 mph and 8 of the 11 passes were over 200 mph. The bike set the APS/G-1000/4, the APS/F-1000/4 and the APS/BG-1000/4 LTA Land Speed records. We earned our way into the LTA 200 mph club. We achieved our A-license, and to top it off our EX-250R earned the MPS/F-350/4 LTA Land Speed record. We could not have asked for more as the ZX-10 has so much more to be done to it. The bike is a player in the 1000cc class and will be in the future.
With all that said, the real accomplishment was the ability to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. It is something near and dear to my heart. During the event I was able to spend a little time with someone who is now a hereo of mine, Michael Roman. He is the pilot of the Wounded Warrior Special. Michael is a special man and such an inspiration. You can read more about him at his website http://www.racingroman.com/ While we all let things get us down, one look at Michael and his drive, his will to succeed, that refuse to loose attitude, well you can't help but be inspired. I have always felt that we were the most determined team in Land Racing. I know that we at TLN will never give in, never give up. This year has been such a trying one, and almost put us out of business. We somehow found a way and the success of the weekend was the payoff. I stand inspired by the Racing Roman and his team. I am so proud to know him and of what he has done. I wish him so much success at Bonneville. It is now a goal of mine to somehow hook up with his team in a joint effort to raise money for Wounded Warrior Project.
The real accomplishments of the weekend are not the records, speeds and 2 club membership. The accomplishment is to spend some time around a true American Hereo. To celebrate success of each of our teams and to genuinely form a bond. This past weekend in Maine was one of the greatest of my life. I am so proud of TLN, and of Michael and what he is doing.
Remeber our Heroes that need our help so much. The Wounded Warrior Project is a way we can all give back to those who have given so much to us.
